AETiC welcomes proposals for special issues that align with the scope of the journal and focus on a very specific advanced topic. To propose a special issue, please complete this form and email it to us for consideration.
Guidelines for Guest Editors of Special Issues: To ensure the highest standards for our special issues, please ensure the following criteria are met:
1. Qualifications of Guest Editors:
1.1 All guest editors must hold a PhD degree from a recognised university and have a minimum of two publications in reputable, peer-reviewed journals or conferences, within the last two years. 1.2 At least two-thirds of the guest editors must hold the academic rank of associate professor or above. 1.3. Guest editors must possess established reputations within their fields, substantiated by strong publication records. Their expertise must directly align with the special issue's scope. 1.4. The guest editorial team should be internationally diverse, with members affiliated with universities across multiple continents. 1.5 Members of AETiC’s regular editorial board are also eligible to participate in the special issue editorial team.
2. Roles and Responsibilities of Guest Editors:
2.1 Guest editors are responsible for actively disseminating the Call for Papers (CfP) through their professional networks, including personal emails, social media posts, word-of-mouth and other appropriate channels. 2.2 The managing guest editor is responsible for conducting an initial assessment of submitted manuscripts to determine their suitability for the special issue. This includes evaluating whether the manuscript fits the scope and meets basic scientific standards. 2.3. Guest editors are required to provide detailed and constructive peer-review comments on assigned manuscripts. 2.4. Guest editors should ensure timely communication and coordination with the AETiC editorial office to maintain the efficiency of the review process. 2.5 The managing guest editor may be invited to collaborate with the editor-in-chief in making final decisions on manuscripts, ensuring a rigorous and fair review process. 2.6 o A brief editorial introduction or commentary from the guest editors, highlighting the significance of the special issue and its contributions to the field, could be included in the final publication. 2.7 Guest editors are encouraged to propose innovative themes or emerging topics for future special issues, fostering continuous engagement with the journal.
By adhering to these guidelines, guest editors will play a pivotal role in maintaining the quality and impact of AETiC’s special issues.
